Ever want to watch the ball game while your favorite late night TV show is on? Well, with WinTV-PVR-500 MCE, you don't have to chose which show to watch. Just set the Media Center Edition to record that late night TV show while you continue to watch the ball game, with full PVR capabilities. Pause live TV, replay and skip forward, all while your other TV show continues to be recorded to your PC's hard disk .
For Windows XP Media Center Edition users:
WinTV-PVR-500 MCE includes:
- Dual 125 channel cable ready TV tuners, each with a dbx-TV stereo decoder (Nicam stereo decoder in Europe)
- Dual high quality MPEG2 video and audio encoders based on the Conexant -416 MPEG encoder
- One back panel composite/s-video plus stereo audio inputs to connect to cable or satellite set top boxes
- Two on-board A/V headers, to connect to two more A/V sources (A/V cable set not included)
- One FM radio receiver
- Note: the WinTV-PVR-500 MCE does not come with a remote control or a software DVD decoder. If you are building Media Center systems, please check with Microsoft for a list of MCE certified remote controls and DVD decoders.
There are two models of WinTV-PVR-500 MCE:
- one for NTSC and one for PAL (multistandard PAL I, PAL B/G, Secam).

- Windows®XP Media Center Edition 2005, WindowsXP Home or WindowsXP Professional
Note: when using the WinTV-PVR-500 MCE with WindowsXP, you need a third party TV application such as Mediaortal, SageTV or BeyondTV
