Settings
Specify which IMDB Databases to use
Internet database search settings
- Here you specify the movie databases that need to be used for finding movie information. Put the database that uses your preferred language on top, followed by databases that may contain info on movies not found in the top database.
To remove an added database, select it's line and press the Delete key.
- Automatically select the nearest match
- Default: on.

Scan
Select which folder/s will be scanned for Movie Titles

This area allow you to select which folders will be included in a scan if initiated. Having no check mark against a folder will remove it from being scanned. Note:- movies already saved in the Local Movie Databases by a scan will not be removed if this the folder is then de-selected.
How to Skip Movies Already Scanned

- Selecting this option will help in speeding up the Internet IMDB scanning process as movies already in the local Movie Database will excluded from the search.
How to Include Actor Details in Scans
Download Actors
Selecting this option will include the all the actor information for the movie. Having this information is useful for searches where Switching the View in MediaPortal MyVideos will allow you to select an actor (with picture if avialable) and view all the movies they are associated with.
Perform a Scan of the folders
Update database from selected shares
- This Button when clicked will go and search the IMDB on the internet for information on you Movie Collection and save it to the local Movie Database.
How to Clear the database of all Information

- Clicking this button will remove all entries in the Local Movie Database
Editor
Title
- This Tab provides a basic editor into the Local Movie Database where you can manually add a new entry or modify an existing entry. Under the Drop down box you will see some headings which if clicked will take you to the specific information about the title selected in the drop down box.

To add a new Movie, click the drop down box and go to the bottom of the list to find New...

How to Save your Edits and Additions
Save
- Whenever making changes in the Database Editor, this button must be clicked before moving to any other heading/tab/configuration option otherwise it will not be saved.
How to Delete a Title
Delete
- Clicking this will delete the selected title from the Local Movie Database only. It will not delete the files from the Hard Drive. This needs to be done manually if required.
Perform a IMDB lookup on a specific Movie Title

- After Entering a Movie name in the title section next to the lookup button, Clicking this will make the Editor scan the IMDB for a match for this title. If found all, the other fields will be updated from this information.
Perform an Import from a 3rd Party DVD Cataloger
Import
- If you use an external DVD cataloger to store your DVD information, this button can be used to import the XML file produced.
Files
This configuration window displays the files that are currently selected against a title of the movie. As in this screen shot you can see that the title 101 Dalmatians, is a DVD Backup and the file it points to is ...\VIDEO_TS.IFO. You do not have to put every file for a DVD Backup into the list just the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. For other types of movie files that span across multiple files, every one of them must be added.
Add Movie Files to the Title

- This button simply opens a browser box to select the file you wish to add to the list.
Remove Movie Files from teh Title

- Select the file name to remove from the list and the click Remove.
NOTE - Don't forget to Save if changes have been made in this section with the SAVE button
Actors
- Select the Title of the movie you wish to edit. On the Right hand side of the screen you should a list of actors that have assigned to the Movie. The left hand side of the screen shows a list of all actors available in the database.

To Assign an actor to the selected movie, highlight the actors name and then click >> to push that name across the right side list.
To Remove the Actors association with the selected movie, highlight the actors name on the right column and click << to push the actors name across to the left side list.

Add
- If the actor you wish to add to the Movie is not listed in the Left or Right Column, then Type the name of actor in the text box above the Add and Remove Buttons. When finished typing, click Add

- If you wish to remove an actors name from the Local Movie Database altogether, Select the actors name from the left column and click remove.

Genres
- Select the Title of the Movie you wish to edit. The left side column show the available list of Genres and the right side list shows the Genres assigned to the selected movie.

Assign a Genre to a Movie
Select the Genre you wish to associate with the selected movie and click >>. This will push the Genre to the right side column.
Remove a Genre from a Movie
Select the Genre you wish to remove from the right side column and click <<. This will push the Genre to the left side column.
Modifying the Available Genre List
- On the left side column displays a list of all genres that are not associated to the selected movie. If the Genre you require is not in either column, it can be added to the list by entering the Genre name in the text box and clicking Add.
- If there is a Genre that you do not want in the Available list, selecting it and clicking remove will remove it from the Local Database.
Coverart
This section allow you to view the current Coverart Image and it location which is stored in the Database for the selected title.
NOTE - Do not forget to save if you have made any changes.
Search the IMDB for Coverart on Selected Title
Search For Images
- Clicking this button will search the IMDB for coverart on the selected title. The left comlumn will display a list of available images and selecting one will then display the image on the right side window. When clicking this button, If there is an image called Folder.jpg in the root folder for the title it will also show up.
NOTE - Do not forget to save if you have made any changes.
