    Overview

Documentation of plugin extensions for MediaPortal, provided by the extension developer.

    Plugins: a world of imagination

In this section of the wiki, we provide space for documentation of plugins that are not currently included in the default distribution of MediaPortal.  These plugins are extensions of MediaPortal.

This list is not complete. It is up to the plugin developer to provide their own documentation.  Some plugins have their documentation included in their download package, others have online documentation on their own webservers, and some  have no documentation at all.

Furthermore, much of the documenetation has not been updated for some time. Please contact the plugin developer in the MediaPortal Plugins Forum. and ask them to update their documentation.  Over time, this documentation will improve.

    Finding Plugins

To browse and download plugins see our Downloads Repository > Plugins

View the Plugins Index for a list of all Plugins documented in our wiki.

You may also us the standard MediaPortal Extensions Installer (MPEI) to browse, install and update most plugins.

Note: Before you install a plugin or skin, you should check that the version it has been developed for, matches the version you are using.

    Installing Plugins

Most plugins can be installed using the MediaPortal Extensions Installer (MPEI).  Some plugins provide their own installers. If neither is available, see Manual Installation.

    Incompatible Plugins

If a plugin is not compatible with your current version of MediaPortal, the first time you load MediaPortal with incompatible plugins present, you will receive a warning notice after MediaPortal is fully loaded but before showing the home screen:

    2. Keep the topic name short.
    3. Be sure to add a download link in your FIRST post, and if you have an updated version replace the link in the first post of the thread!
Do not add update links to posts within the thread or users will miss them!
