Video Mixing Renderer (VMR) is a Direct Show filter first introduced with Windows XP.
VMR-9 uses Direct3D 9, allowing developers to transform video images using the Direct3D pixel shaders. It is available for all Windows platforms as part of the DirectX 9 redistributable.
