    DivX is the brand name of a video compression technology created by DivXNetworks, Inc., (also known as Project Mayo). A video encoding format based on the MPEG-4 video compression standard. It can achieve a higher compression ratio than the older MPEG-2 standard, resulting in lower bitrates and smaller file sizes.
