Front-end Configuration

See explanation below!

Back-end Configuration

TV/Recording

Crops the edges of the TV Stream and TV Recordings.

TV Streams and TV Recordings have often grubby edges.

The values can be set inside of MP (Menu->Crop Settings) too.

Video

Crops the Video/DVD edges.

Overscan

The overscan edge crop kicks in, when black bars are detected. That means that only the black bars are going to be cropped plus the overscan pixels. The right and left edges are cropped too, if you are playing a Video/DVD the right and left values are taken from the "Video Edge Crop". If you are playing/watching a TV Stream or TV Recording the right and left values are taken from the "TV Crop Edges".

Advanced Video Mode

Select a view mode for each possible aspect ratio and additionally a zoom for each side.

Scan Interval

The time between a frame check and the next one.

Detection Counter

If the counter was reached, the pattern for black bars must match more than once, the same for view mode. Example.: Detection counter is set to 3. The view mode must match 3 times in a row, otherwise the previous view mode is kept. The black bar size must match exactly in each analysis (pixel-accurateness), otherwise the previous crop setting is kept.

Max Brightness Threshold

The max brightness threshold is the value at which content is detected. If the threshold value is reached (at least one pixel) content was detected instantly, otherwise not. 0 = black 255 = white

Min Brightness Threshold

The min brightness threshold is the value at which content is detected, but more than half the number of pixels must be above the min brightness threshold, otherwise no content was detected. 0 = black 255 = white

Stabilizer Factor

The stabilizer provides a smoother cropping behavior. This is to prevent a crazy cropping behavior for each pixel.

Example: Stabilizer value of 10. I.F.C. detects a small black bar of <= 10 pixel, the stabilizer crops 10 pixel. If the black bar is 11 pixel or greater, the stabilizer crops the next tenner block (20 pixel)

Stabilizer Tolerance

The stabilizer only kicks in when small black bars/edges were detected. And to prevent a cropping behavior like this 1(pixel),4,3,0,3 ... and so on. The set stabilizer of 10 (default) crops when more than 0 pixel are found. example:

example:

1-10

=

10

11-20

=

20

...

The stabilizer tolerance works like this:

to prevent the following:

without stabilizer tolerance:

9 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

11 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

8 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

with stabilizer tolerance (default is 7)

9 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

11 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

8 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

6 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

5 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

4 pixel (detected)

=

20 (stabilized)

3 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

4 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

5 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

9 pixel (detected)

=

10 (stabilized)

As you can see the stabilizer consider the last set stabilizer and if the difference to the stabilizer is more than 7, then the stabilizer is changed (only backwards).

Edge Detection Tolerance

The edge is the transient between black bar and the content. The edge can vary from frame to frame. You can set a tolerance, within that tolerance (red arrow) the edge(s) are the same for I.F.C. That results in a faster black bar detection.

Stabilizer

The stabilizer provides a smoother cropping behavior. This is to prevent a crazy cropping behavior for each pixel.

Example: Stabilizer value of 10. I.F.C. detects a small black bar of <= 10 pixel, the stabilizer crops 10 pixel. If the black bar is 11 pixel or greater, the stabilizer crops the next tenner block (20 pixel)

Single Black Bar Height

Above the single black bar height, single black bars were detected.

Double Black Bar Height

Above the double black bar height, double black bars were detected.

Verbose Logging

Enable/Disable verbose logging (For better debugging).

Correct Aspect Ratio

If disabled I.F.C crops all found black bars, no matter of the aspect ratio. "Egg-Heads" could appear.

Enable/Disable Black Bar Detection

Enable/Disable the Black Bar Detection globally, no frames will be scanned for black bars.

Auto Start

Starts I.F.C. with the player.

Import/Export

You can save/load your settings to/from a file.
