Integrating Sky with MediaPortal

This is a guide for intergating standard Sky into Mediaportal alongside Freeview. The basis for this guide is to have MediaPortal 1 working with a DVB-S and analog card, and a signal from the Optus D1 satellite. I have used a Hauppauge Nova S and PVR-150 but any MP-compatible cards will work.

The general principle is to use the Scart or UHF output of the Sky box into the analog tuner card, and to use an IR blaster (I am using the Microsoft MCE remote) to change the channels on the Sky box.
