Overview

Organize your pictures into photo albums or specific folders for slideshows.

Introduction

When using the Pictures features of MediaPortal you can:

  • Sort and browse your pictures in many different ways.
  • Rotate pictures immediately - the rotation is remembered next time the picture is displayed.
  • Delete failed snapshots or files you don't need anymore.
  • Create new folders

Sort Your Photos

Sort your photos using the Pictures Menu by:

Then, click the arrow up or down arrow button on the menu to choose ascending or descending order:

You can also set Rotation Settings in Configuration > Pictures

  • Use EXIF metadata to determince the rotation (might interfere with buggy viewers)
  • Use Google Picasa.ini to determine the rotation (if file is available)

Organize Files and Folders

Just highlight a file or folder of pictures or photos and press F9 or the Info/More remote button.

  • Recreate all thumbnails - refreshes your thumbnail images, especially if you have increased your thumbnail quality or moved your pictures around.
  • Switch View - Shares (folders and files) or Dates
  • File Menu  - to reorganize your pictures

File Menu

When File Menu is enabled:

  1. Select Shares View in Pictures, Videos or Music
  2. Navigate to the folder where you wish to add a new folder or select the folder or file you wish to rename or delete
  3. Press the Info/More button on your remote, F9 on your keyboard, or right click with a mouse for the context menu
  4. Select File Menu to display the dialog window:
  5. Choose Rename, Delete or New Folder
  6. To Rename or add a New Folder, enter the name you wish in the Virtual Keyboard

Copy or Move a folder or file

When File Menu is enabled:

  1. Select Shares View in Pictures, Videos or Music
  2. Navigate to the folder where you wish to copy or move the file or folder
  3. Press the Info/More button on your remote, F9 on your keyboard, or right click with a mouse for the context menu
  4. Select File Menu to display the dialog window as above
  5. Select Set as destination
  6. Now navigate to the file or folder you wish to move
  7. Select File Menu again from the context menu - once you have set a destination folder, you have new options:
  8. Select Copy or Move
