Hauppauge WinTV CI

TV Server supports the Hauppauge WinTV CI product.

Configuration

Configuration for the WinTV CI is very simple - just select a tuner to use the WinTV CI with.

Limitations

Due to the way the Hauppauge WinTV CI driver operates, it is only possible to use a single WinTV CI in each PC. In addition, the WinTV CI can only be used to decrypt one channel at a time. This is also a driver limitation.

Recommendations

We recommend that you:

• use the newest drivers available from Hauppauge here.
• only use the WinTV CI with a Hauppauge tuner. Hauppauge specifies that you may use the WinTV CI with any NOVA or HVR series product. Tuners from other manufacturers have been known to work but Hauppauge have not designed the WinTV CI for this, and we don't test or provide any guarantee of function either.
