Red-Eye serial, a development from the Red-Eye IR translator, allows Pace Digital cable TV and Sky Digital set-top boxes (STBs) to be controlled from an RS232 serial port,

Red-Eye serial supports all UK models of Pace, Samsung and Scientific Atlanta NTL/Telewest digital cable STBs, Sky and Sky+, as well as the NTL DC221 STB used in Ireland.

On 6 Nov 2010}, Dadeo suggested that this page or content is incomplete and needs to be expanded with explanation of the Delay and Channel Settings

    • Enable Redeye - check to enable
Choose the signal type for the type of STB you have (See documentation on site..
You only need do this once as the unit will remember your choice)
    • Signal - only available if the Port selected is available
    • Port - Choose the ComPort the unit is attached to
    • Delay -
    • Channel -
    • Test - only available if the Port selected is available

In the Channel Setup for your TV simply put the channel number you would normally
select with your STB remote in the text box for the External Channel.
You can test your configuration by typeing in a channel number and clicking 'Test'.

Note:. If the external Channel number has not changed the Plugin will not attempt
to send an instruction to RedEye, this makes a smoother interface, please remember
this when you are testing the unit.
